HLA SSP Typing Kit
The R.O.S.E. Europe HLA SSP (Sequence Specific Primer) Typing Kit is a “low resolution“ HLA typing system for identification of HLA Class I (A, B, C) and Class II (DRB, DQB) characteristics from DNA via PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction). For clinical use, this system is very efficient.
The HLA SSP typing method uses the PCR as a system to amplify DNA sequences with the help of specific primers that bind only to a complementary DNA sequence. Only if the primer matches exactly with the target DNA, this DNA can be amplified very efficiently, in opposite to primers with mismatches. The HLA SSP primers are designed to only match completely with one single allele or allele group.
The detection of the amplified DNA fragments is done using gel-electrophoresis.
